Furukawa Sangyo acquires personal information related to its customers. In accordance with the provision set forth by the Personal Information Protection Law, this document explains the purpose of use, handling of and other items related to personal information obtained by Furukawa Sangyo (the "Company") in relation to its customers.
• Personal information held by this Company

  This Company possesses the following personal information related to its customers.

  1. Personal information (e.g. name, gender, postal address, date of birth, telephone number, email address, etc.) acquired during the business transaction.
  2. Information that originates during the execution of the business transaction, such as purchase history and service provision information.

• Purpose of use of the personal information

  The personal information held by this Company shall be used for the following purposes.

  1. For the execution of the content of the business transaction with the customer, management of agreements, and implementation of management or after-sales service after the conclusion of an agreement.
  2. To propose other products, services, etc. of this Company and each of the companies in the Company's Group that is thought to be beneficial for the customer. This kind of use will be halted if there is a request made to do so by the relevant customer.
 The personal information provided to this Company shall not be used for any purposes other than the aforementioned.

• Protection and management of personal information

  In addition to establishing a "Privacy Policy" and "Personal Information Protection Regulations," this Company shall comply with Japanese laws and other regulations related to the protection of personal information. Furthermore, this Company shall endeavor to educate and enlighten each of its employees and strive to raise awareness regarding the protection of personal information.

  As for the management of customers' personal information, under the responsibility of the person in charge of personal information management, a person in charge of personal information is assigned at each division handling personal information. Personal information is appropriately managed and the utmost care is taken to prevent the leakage of personal information outside of the Company. Furthermore, security measures of an appropriate and reasonable level are taken to protect personal information from dangers such as fraudulent external access, loss, destruction or altering.

  In addition, this Company shall continuously review and strive to improve the aforementioned system and measures related to the protection of personal information.

• Outsourcing of the handling of personal information

  The handling of personal information may be outsourced in order to provide even better services. In such cases, this Company selects a company that is recognized as handling personal information appropriately, and the outsourced company is made to execute appropriate management of the information, such as maintenance of confidentiality and prohibition of providing the personal information to a third party, in order to prevent the leakage of customers' personal information.

• Provision of personal information to third parties

 The personal information regarding customers held by this Company shall not be disclosed or provided to third parties, provided, however, that under the following circumstances, personal information may be disclosed or provided to a third party without the consent of the customer concerned.

  1. When is it based on legal imperatives.
  2. When there is a need to do so in order to protect a person's life, person or assets and it is difficult to acquire the consent of the customer concerned.
  3. When there is a particular need to do so in order to improve public health or promote the development of children and it is difficult to acquire the consent of the customer concerned.
  4. When there is a need to cooperate with a government agency, local public authority or is commissioned by such to carry out clerical duties stipulated by law and there is a danger that the execution of that clerical duty will be impeded by acquiring the consent of the relevant customer.

• Disclosure of personal information

  A customer may, at any time, request to see his/her personal information held by this Company. This Company shall promptly comply if requested by a customer to see his/her personal information. Please contact the below listed inquiry desk.

• Amendment or deletion of personal information

  If there is an error in the personal information a customer provided to this Company, the customer may request that the relevant personal information be amended or deleted. If there is a request from a customer to amend or delete his/her personal information, this Company shall investigate the information without delay, and if there is a matter that needs to be amended or deleted, it shall be done promptly.
